Ground blizzards

Posted by Reganati - January 16th, 2024

Sometimes, when it's windy enough after a snowstorm (typically when a potent front moves through), and the snow is fluffier and more powder-like, blizzard conditions can occur near the ground because of the wind alone, even if the sky is clear.

they can be just as dangerous as real blizzards under the right circumstances.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Wind, my greatest nemesis.
I haven't heard of or even seen this phenomenon before, so it sounds pretty annoying and cool for it to happen (although more annoying if you're on the ground). Another fun fact taught by the Newgrounds Weatherman.

Yes, it is very annoying, at least i've heard. Someone died because of it once.

I'm so glad I live in florida
