Over 800 NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association) employees were fired on thursday in the latest of the government mass-layoffs. This includes the NWS (national weather service), among other agencies

I don't work at the NWS, but i still think this is a huge issue because... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS ALREADY UNDERSTAFFED!!! And to make things worse, right on cue, it looks like a major weather event is about to unfold next week...

I already didn't know how i felt about the mass government layoffs - I know it's no good to have freeloaders sitting around getting payed to do nothing, but on the other hand, the layoffs seem quite excessive... Maybe i'm wrong but i don't believe there were really over 800 people sitting around doing nothing at NOAA...

Only 5% of noaa was fired, and i don't know how many were fired from the NWS, but this can't be good at all...

That's all, just wanted to write about something that kinda pissed me off
